It automatically connects (parallels) batteries when it detects that the main battery is being charged (e.g., by an alternator or charger) and disconnects them when voltage drops, preventing one battery from draining the other. The built-in microprocessor ensures fast, voltage-sensitive switching without significant voltage loss, making it more efficient than traditional voltage-sensitive relays.
